Urban, Energy and Environmental Planning focuses on urban development, energy planning and environmental management. You will learn how different strategies and measures change the landscape and the environment surrounding you.
You will learn how to make plans and develop projects for the design of residential areas and the location of companies, schools, and parks. You will learn how the environmental impact of companies can be reduced and how wind power can be integrated into the energy system.
Through courses and project work, you will be given a series of tools for the assessment of environment, economy and social relations. With these tools at hand, you will be able to solve the environmental problems of society in practice.
The programme combines science and social science. In the MSc programme you can choose between three different areas of expertise. All three specialisations are conducted in English:
-
Urban Planning and Management, which focuses on city planning and management of city development
-
Sustainable Energy Planning and Management, which focuses on ways to cover society’s energy demand taking due account of climate, sustainability, environment, and economy.
-
Environmental Management, which focuses on the planning of environmental issues in companies and in society as a whole.
You have the possibility of completing an internship in a company or an organisation in Denmark or abroad as a part of the programme.
The last semester you will be writing your Master’s thesis.
Teaching varies between lectures, courses, class exercises and problem-based learning in groups. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.

If you choose to complete the master degree programme, you will graduate with the academic title of Master of Science in Engineering (MSc).
