Product Development and Innovation

In this study programme, you will learn how to develop products, study the market and evaluate the commercial potential of a product. Classic engineering skills are combined with creativity and business understanding.

You will acquire business acumen that can be used in both national and international companies or in a new business if you wish to work as an entrepreneur.

The programme has two areas of specialisation:

• Production Value Creation, which focuses on value creation in products, and global product development processes.
• Global Sourcing focuses on strategic supply chain management. Strategic planning and management of technological development are central to the programme.

Teaching varies between lectures and classroom instruction. In addition, there is often project work together with other students. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.

If you choose to complete the master degree programme, you will graduate with the academic title of Master of Science (MSc).

To be admitted to an MSc programme, you must have a bachelor degree in a relevant subject.

In addition, documentation may be required verifying your proficiency in English is at a specified level.

Tuition

There is a tuition fee for all full-degree students, unless you are a student from an EU/EEA country, or from Switzerland.

Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.

Semester Start

An academic year is made up of two semesters, which begin around September 1st and February 1st.

University of Southern Denmark

At the University of Southern Denmark Product Development and Innovation can be studied as a 2-year MSc programme (120 ECTS).

You also have the possibility of taking single courses or subjects within the programme.

The programme can be studied as a 3 year bachelor degree.
