Pharmaceutical Design and Engineering

You will be taught the technical and scientific skills needed to solve problems and meet challenges in the pharmaceutical industry.

The programme will provide you with a vocabulary in pharmaceutical technology and enable you to specialise further in the field of your bachelor degree.

The programme covers the design, development, manufacture and distribution of drugs, diagnostics, medicinal nanotechnology and biotechnology products.

The study courses include:

• Assay technology
• Molecular microbiology
• Nanotechnology (including lab-on-a-chip)
• Bioinformatics
• Eukaryote and prokaryotecells
• Cell biology and disease development
• The drug development process
• Quality by design
• Vaccine development and production
• Pre-clinical and clinical development
• Project management
• Patent application and legislation

Teaching varies between lectures, classroom instruction and laboratory work. The study and work form is based on project groups. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.

If you choose to complete the master degree programme, you will graduate with the academic title of Master of Science in Engineering (MSc).

To be admitted to an MSc programme, you must have a bachelor degree in a relevant subject.

In addition, documentation may be required verifying your proficiency in English is at a specified level.

Tuition

There is a tuition fee for all full-degree students, unless you are a student from an EU/EEA country, or from Switzerland.

Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.

Semester Start

An academic year is made up of two semesters, which begin around September 1 and February 1.

You can study Pharmaceutical Design and Engineering in Lyngby (Copenhagen).

Technical University of Denmark

At the Techincal University of Denmark, Pharmaceutical Design and Engineering can be studied as a 2-year MSc programme (120 ECTS).

You can also take single courses or subjects within the programme.
