The programme focuses on designing, manufacturing and controlling materials, components and machinery with dimensions on the nanoscale, i.e. from 0.1 to 100 nm. You will be able to specialise in either Nanobiotechnology or Nanophysics and Nanomaterials. You will learn how to develop materials for use in communications, data storage, biosensors, medicine, etc.
Examples of courses are:
Nanobiotechnology:
- Advanced Gene Technology
- Engineering of Reactions
- Molecular Simulation
- Advanced Data Analysis
- NMR Spectroscopy
- High Throughput Screening
- Mass Spectroscopy
- Self-organizing Biostructures
Nanophysics and Nanomaterials:
- Optoelectronics
- Semiconductor Physics
- Nano-composites
- Polymer Chemistry
- Nano-optics
- Surface Science
- Multiscale Modelling and Simulation
- Nano-electronics
You will also be able to combine courses from the two specialisations.
Teaching varies between courses and project work together with other students. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions. In the final 1-2 semesters you will be writing your MSc thesis
