The programme focuses on creative and constructive engineering work. You will develop new products and systems, for example mobile phones and kitchen appliances, taking the user's specific needs and life style as well as technological development into account.
You will learn about production, distribution and service of the products. You will also study environmental impact, function, usability and aesthetics and you will gain hands-on experience of designing new products and systems.
There are a number of mandatory general competence courses, in addition to these you can choose from a wide range of technological specialisation courses.
Teaching varies between lectures, classroom instruction, exercises and project work together with other students. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.
The final 6 months will be spent writing your thesis. The thesis is a scientific research project, often carried out in collaboration with one of university's industrial partners.
