Computer Science and Engineering

Computer Science and Engineering covers the design and development of computer software and hardware systems.You will learn to model, analyse, design, implement and validate complex IT systems using the latest methods, tools and techniques.

The disciplines of computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, logic, systems engineering and project management are central to the programme. You will study areas such as software development, digital systems, efficient and intelligent software and knowledge-based systems.

Graduates of the programme will be qualified to work for a broad range of companies and organisations in the area of IT, electronics and communications.

About the Programme

Computer hardware and software is vital in many areas in our society. Mobile phones, satellites and modern hospitals would not function without computers and communication equipment. In the Computer Science and Engineering programme, you will learn to design such systems.

You can specialise in different areas:

Safe and secure systems
System integration
Distributed and embedded systems
Networks
Software engineering
Algorithms and logic
System-on-chip
Digital systems

The final 6-12 months will be spent making your thesis. The thesis is a scientific research project, often carried out in collaboration with one of university's industrial partners.

Graduation from the master degree programme confers the title Master of Science in Engineering (MSc).

Entry Requirements

To be admitted to an MSc programme, you must have a bachelor degree in a relevant subject.

In addition, documentation may be required verifying your proficiency in English is at a specified level.

Admission

Tuition

There is a tuition fee for all full-degree students, unless you are a student from an EU/EEA country, or from Switzerland.

Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.

An academic year is made up of two semesters, which begin around September 1 and February 1.
