Biotechnology, Chemistry and Environmental Engineering

You will learn about the basic chemical and biological processes involved in chemical and biotechnological production, and in environmental engineering.

The programme offers two specialisations:

• Environmental Engineering, which aims at providing knowledge concerning transport, transformations and effects of pollutants in environmental systems.
• Industrial Biotechnology, which focuses on the technological use of biological materials, the application of biological and biochemical processes in industry and waste-stream refinement.

Teaching varies between lectures and classroom instruction. In addition, there is often project work together with other students. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.

In the final 6 months of the programme, you will be writing your MSc thesis.

If you choose to complete the master's degree programme, you will graduate with the academic title of Master of Science in Engineering (MSc).

To be admitted to an MSc programme, you must have a bachelor degree in a relevant subject.

In addition, documentation may be required verifying your proficiency in English is at a specified level.

Tuition

There is a tuition fee for all full-degree students, unless you are a student from an EU/EEA country, or from Switzerland.

Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.

Semester Start

An academic year is made up of two semesters, which begin around September 1st and February 1st.

Aalborg University

At the Aalborg University Biotechnology, Chemistry and Environmental Engineering can be studied as a 2-year MSc degree programme (120 ECTS).

You also have the possibility to take single courses or subjects within the programme.
