Architectural engineering is about the development and design of buildings in cooperation with others, taking architecture and the local environment into consideration.
In the programme, you will work with all phases of the development and design of buildings and building systems including planning, structural form finding and design, as well as the functional design and operation of the building.
You will specialise in either Structural Design or Functional Design.
Examples of courses:
- bridge design
- structural glazing
- seismic design
- wind engineering
- facades
- acoustics
- fire safety
- services for heating, lighting, water supply, drain and sewers
Teaching varies between lectures, classroom instruction, exercises and problem-oriented project work in groups. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.
The final 6-12 months will be spent writing your MSc thesis. The thesis is a scientific research project, often carried out in collaboration with one of university's industrial partners.
