On the master programme you specialise in a specific issue in the field. For example you study a particular geographic area and identify and analyse the specific development challenges that exist there.
You study the factors that influence a country's ability to develop; the political system and culture, relations with first world countries, nature and the environment or education.
The majority of students choose an internship in a developing country. The internship lasts between 3 and 5 months.
Teaching varies between lectures, classes and group-based project work.
