Technological and Socio-Economic Planning

On this programme you work with environmental problems on several levels from both a national and international perspective.

Teaching on the master programme focuses on the subjects you were introduced to on the bachelor programme. You will be taught; technology and production, nature, risk, democracy, ecology and sustainability.

Depending on your area of specialisation, you will be qualified to work in planning and development, for example for the government, in the private sector, for an environmental organisation or for an international aid organisation.

About the Programme

The study programme is comprised of themes; politics, planning and regulation and knowledge and practice.

You study the environment and its problems while learning how they can be affected by planning and regulation.

The following courses are part of the politics, planning and regulation theme:

•	Local, regional and international politics, planning and regulating environment and development.
•	Evaluating instruments and strategies in environment and development.

The following courses are part of the knowledge and practice theme:

•	Analysis and action in environment and development.
•	Implementation of environment and development initiatives.

You will specialise in one of the subjects when writing your thesis.

Teaching varies between lectures, classroom instruction and project work in groups. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.

If you choose to complete the master degree programme, you will graduate with the academic title of Master of Science (MSc).

Entry Requirements

To be admitted to an MSc programme, you must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant subject.

In addition, documentation may be required verifying your proficiency in English is at a specified level.

There is a tuition fee for all full-degree students, unless you are a student from an EU/EEA country, or from Switzerland.

Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.
