Statistics are used to create an overview and to produce projections of a given situation, e.g. concerning the economic development of a country or the size of a workforce now and in ten years time.
On the programme, you will work in depth with the theory and development of mathematical methods and models. You will also learn about data management as computers are an indispensable tool in the design of models and calculation of data.
You can specialise in several fields relating to the theory of probability and theoretical and applied statistics.
Teaching varies between lectures and classroom instruction. In addition, there is often project work together with other students. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.
