Chemistry

The master programme allows you to continue working with subjects such as organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry and theoretical chemistry. At the same time, you will train to work as a chemist and learn how to plan and execute experimental work.

In addition, you will acquire skills in oral and written presentation.

You can, to a large extent, combine compulsory and elective courses to design your own programme. Thereby giving you the chance to sharpen your skills in one or more areas of the subject.

Teaching varies between lectures and classroom instruction. In addition, there is often project work together with other students. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.

If you choose to complete the master degree programme, you will graduate with the academic title of Master of Science (MSc).

To be admitted to an MSc programme, you must have a bachelor degree in a relevant subject.

In addition, documentation may be required verifying your proficiency in English is at a specified level.

Tuition

There is a tuition fee for all full-degree students, unless you are a student from an EU/EEA country, or from Switzerland.

Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.

Semester Start

An academic year is made up of two semesters, which begin around September 1st and February 1st.

You can study Chemistry in Copenhagen, Roskilde and Aarhus.

Copenhagen University

At Copenhagen University, Chemistry can be studied as a 2-year MSc programme (120 ECTS).

You also have the possibility of taking single courses or subjects within the programme.

Roskilde University

At the Roskilde University Chemistry can be studied for 1 year (60 ECTS) as part of a 2-year MSc programme.

You also have the possibility of taking single courses or subjects within the programme.

The programme can also be studied for 6 months (30 ECTS) as part of a 3 year bachelor degree.

One of the Basic Studies at Roskilde University, normally the International Basic Studies in Natural Sciences, constitutes the first two years of the bachelor degree programme.

Aarhus University

At the Aarhus University Chemistry can be studied as a 2-year masters degree programme (120 ECTS).
