The programme will provide you with advanced knowledge of farming with specialisation in Animal Health and Welfare, Plant Nutrition and Health or Organic Agriculture.
Agricultural production today is faced with increasing demands from consumers in relation to product quality, protection of the environment and animal welfare. The programme focuses on how to meet these demands.
You will learn to use and evaluate theoretical and experimental methods and to communicate your knowledge to scientists and the public.
You can specialise in one of the following areas:
- Animal Health and Welfare, where you gain insight into livestock based food production.
- Plant Nutrition and Health, where you gain insight into the elements of plant production that are relevant for all crops.
- Organic Agriculture, where you gain insight into the factors and processes that are important for organic crop and livestock production. You will be able to apply for admission to courses on the Euroleague – Master in Organic Agriculture and Food Systems. These courses are held abroad.
Teaching varies between lectures, classroom instruction, exercises and project work in groups. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.
The final 6 months will be spent writing your MSc thesis. The thesis is a scientific research project, often carried out in collaboration with one of university's industrial partners.
