Asian Studies Programme

The Asian Studies Programme focuses on getting an understanding of East Asian culture and language, as well as economics. You will learn to analyse international economies with focus on East Asia, learn to use practical Japanese or Chinese, and get a fundamental understanding of the individual country's social conditions.

The programme is built up around five main areas:

• International Business Economics in which you research international and Asian economies
• Chinese/Japanese where you learn to read, write, speak and comprehend Chinese or Japanese
• Comparative Social Analysis where you become familiar with the methods of comparative analysis, which is used when, for example, you compare two companies' strategies or communications
• Communications where you learn about corporate communications, both internal and external
• Interdisciplinary Research Methods where you learn about social research methods, including quantitative methods, for example a survey, and qualitative methods, such as an inquiry into corporate culture

Teaching varies between lectures and project work together with other students in smaller groups. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.

If you choose to complete the bachelor's programme, you will graduate with the academic title Bachelor of Science (BSc).

The general admission requirements for international students include one of the following international certificates: the Danish/French Baccalauréat (DFB), the European Baccalaureate (EB), the International Baccalaureate (IB), the Option Internationale du Baccalauréat (OIB) or another foreign qualifying examination certificate that can be equated with a Danish upper secondary school leaving certificate.

In addition, documentation may be required verifying your proficiency in English is at a specified level.

The application deadline is March 15 for a course start in September. Admission is handled through The Danish Coordinated Application System. You can apply via optagelse.dk.

A few educational institutions offer a course start in February, where applications are sent directly to the institution. Contact the educational institution for detailed information on application deadlines.

Exchange students should contact their home institution for information on application procedures and deadlines.

Tuition

There is a tuition fee for all full-degree students, unless you are a student from an EU/EEA country, or from Switzerland.

Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.

Semester Start

An academic year is made up of two semesters, which begin around September 1 and February 1.

Copenhagen Business School (CBS)

At the Copenhagen Business School the Asian Studies Programme can be studied as a 3-year BSc programme (180 ECTS).

You also have the possibility to take single courses or subjects within the programme.
