Design and Business

You will learn the theories and methods required to independently organise, manage and carry out design and business projects in the fashion and lifestyle industries.

Teaching emphasises the use of experimental and business-related methods. Most of the teaching is project orientated and assignments are often based on authentic cases drawn from industry. During your studies, you must also complete an internship in a company or organisation.

Design and Business can be studied as a:

• 1½-year bachelor degree programme (90 ECTS)

You will be able to take single courses or subjects within the programme.

If you choose to complete the bachelor degree programme, you will graduate with the academic title Bachelor in Design and Business.

You can study Design and Business at Københavns Erhvervsakademi in Copenhagen and at Business Academy Sothwest in Esberg and Sønderborg.

The general admission requirement for international students is a minimum of two completed years of higher education within the field of Fashion Design, Fashion Sourcing or Fashion Marketing (e.g. the AP degree in Design Technology).

In addition, documentation may be required verifying your proficiency in English is at a specified level.

The application deadline is March 15 for a course start in September. Admission is handled through The Danish Coordinated Application System. You can apply via optagelse.dk.

A few educational institutions offer a course start in February, where applications are sent directly to the institution. Contact the educational institution for detailed information on application deadlines.

Exchange students should contact their home institution for information on application procedures and deadlines.

Tuition

There is a tuition fee for all full-degree students, unless you are a student from an EU/EEA country, or from Switzerland.

Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.

Semester Start

An academic year is made up of two semesters, which begin around September 1.

The programme is graded at level 6 in the Danish Qualification Framework for Lifelong Learning. The Qualification Framework contains levels 1-8 and defines the expected learning outcome of an education programme. Read more about Qualification Framework for Higher Education.
