The programme deals with the development of intelligent and user-friendly products, where it involves mechanical, electronic and software-based solutions. Intelligent products and mechatronical solutions are becoming more and more widespread. For example, hard disc drives, DVD players, and digital camera products are all fundamentally based on mechatronics.
You will learn to think holistically and to participate in a company’s development focusing on technical, business and social matters.
Possible areas of study are design, choice of material, electronics, software development and calculation of the mechanical components of the product.
- Nanotechnology
- Embedded Systems (Software and Digital Design)
- Dynamic Mechatronic Systems
Each semester has its own theme:
- Discover Mechatronics
- Build Mechatronics
- Develop Mechatronics
- Mechatronics and the Environment
- Experts in Teams
- Engineering Internship and Final Project
Teaching varies between lectures and class instruction. In addition, there will often be project work together with other students. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.

Mechatronics can be studied as a:
- 3½ year professional bachelor's degree programme (210 ECTS)
You also have the possibility to take single courses or subjects within the programme.
If you choose to complete the professional bachelor's degree programme, you will graduate with the academic title of Bachelor of Engineering.
