The aim of IMEET is to develop participants' capabilities for entrepreneurship teaching and learning facilitation. The master will integrate knowledge on entrepreneurship theories with new participant-centred and action-oriented learning models.
IMEET is a two-year, part-time programme comprised of six modules and a master project. The different modules of the program consist of theory on entrepreneurship, pedagogy and project driven assignments on advising entrepreneurs. The contents of the modules are:
Module 1 - Introduction to Entrepreneurial Learning, 7½ ECTS:
The key competencies to be acquired are basic theoretical insight in to the field of entrepreneurship and innovation management as well as an understanding of foundational models of coaching and communication. Through group-based assignments based on live cases, participants will get an initial field-based understanding of the relations between entrepreneurship practice and theory, pedagogical models and their possible impact on everyday learning and communication tasks.
Module 2 - Creativity and Enterprising Behaviour, 7½ ECTS:
Being able to develop entrepreneurship learning facilitation is the main competency to be achieved in this module. Through the understanding of pedagogical models participants will acquire a deeper awareness of the learning processes.
Module 3 - Experi(m)ental situated Learning, 7½ ECTS:
The key competencies developed through this module are related to implementing what has been learned in previous modules.
Module 4 - Field Project - Certificate Project, 7½ ECTS:
Key competencies will be methodology in data collection, analysis and writing. This experience will provide participants with a deeper understanding of practising entrepreneurship learning. Through the writing of the project participants will also learn how to develop their own models and approaches to entrepreneurship learning.
Module 5 - International field work, 7½ ECTS:
During the field work participants will observe, interact with and learn from the best of their field and confront their theoretical (explicit) knowledge with their tacit, experiential knowledge. This will provide them with an explicit as well as a more tacit apprentice-oriented knowledge of practising entrepreneurship learning facilitation. During the collective sessions participants will report to each other on their learning experiences.
Module 6 - From Experience to Development of models, 7½ ECTS:
This module will prepare for the final master project. Experience from the field work will be analysed from a theoretical perspective and the results of the observations will be put into practice-oriented models. Theoretical knowledge will be sharpened and related to practical problems related to implementation of educational programmes, learning processes and evaluation of learning levels. This will develop the analytical competencies needed to carry out the final master project.
Master Project, 15 ECTS:
In the master project participants are required to prove that they master entrepreneurship learning facilitation. The project should preferably have a practice-oriented purpose related to the participants´ own or other organizations. The learning experience of the field work combined with the participants' own experiences can be used as the empirical basis for the final report. Finally, the participants will jointly present and defend their projects.
There will be several examinations during the education. The education ends with an exam based on the master thesis.
