Energy Technology

The programme in energy technology will train you to perform tasks across the fields of electricity, heating, water and sanitation that are aimed at optimising the energy consumption of technical installations and processing plants.

This means that you will be taught how to apply energy saving measures in both housing and industry.

The AP degree programme takes 2 years and consists of the following elements:

• A compulsory element, which makes up half the programme and covers technologies and systems.
• An elective element, where you can specialise in the subjects that interest you most.
• An internship and a final examination project.

The programme is taught using a combination of traditional methods, independent problem solving, projects and group work

Energy Technology is an Academy Profession (AP) Programme rated at 120 ECTS. The qualification is called an AP Degree - an Academy Profession Degree.

You can study Energy Technology at the University College of Northern Denmark in Aalborg.

General admission requirements for international students include one of the following international certificates: the Danish/French Baccalauréat (DFB), the European Baccalaureate (EB), the International Baccalaureate (IB), the Option Internationale du Baccalauréat (OIB) or another foreign qualifying examination certificate that can be equated with a Danish upper secondary school leaving certificate

In addition, there can be prerequisites for English, mathematics and physics proficiencies at predefined levels.

The application deadline is March 15 for a course start in September. Admission is handled through The Danish Coordinated Application System. You can apply via optagelse.dk.

A few educational institutions offer a course start in February. Applications are sent to the institution. For more information on application deadlines, contact the institution.

Tuition

There is a tuition fee for all full-degree students, unless you are a student from an EU/EEA country, or from Switzerland.

Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.

Semester Start

An academic year is made up of two semesters, which begin around September 1 and February 1.

The programme is graded at level 5 in the Danish Qualification Framework for Lifelong Learning. The Qualification Framework contains levels 1-8 and defines the expected learning outcome of an education programme. Read more about Qualification Framework for Higher Education.
