Commerce Management

This programme will provide you will the skills needed to work in purchasing, sales and marketing in commercial companies.

You will learn about company organisation and management while specialising in purchase, retail management or entrepreneurship.

Amongst other things, you will learn to analyse a company's ideas, targets and strategies, to analyse operational issues and to work with market research.

This is a 2 year AP programme and is made up of mandatory courses and electives, one or more internships and a final project.

You will study the following subject areas:

• Business Economics, where you learn about issues related to operations, price optimisation and different types of markets. You will also learn about accounting and budgets.
• Organisation, where you learn about personnel management, project management and how to analyse and assess an organisation.
• Business Law, where you learn about the origins of national and international law, trading regulation, insurance and basic company law.
• Sales, Strategy and Marketing, where you learn about the different aspects of sales, how to analyse markets and to create marketing strategies.
• Business Communications, where you learn cultural analysis, international forms of communication and business English.
• Purchasing and Logistics, where you learn about the impact of purchasing and logistics on a company's strategy and its influence on quality and stock control.

In the second semester you begin to apply for a trainee position in a company. While at the company, you will gain practical experience in the theoretical issues you learned at college. You complete the programme with a final examination project.

Teaching varies between lectures and classroom instruction. In addition, there is often project work with other students. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.

Commerce Management is an Academy Profession (AP) Programme rated at 120 ECTS. The qualification is called an AP Degree - an Academy Profession Degree.

You can study Commerce Management at Zealand Business College in Næstved.

General admission requirements for international students include one of the following international certificates:

• The Danish/French Baccalauréat (DFB), the European Baccalaureate (EB), the International Baccalaureate (IB), the Option Internationale du Baccalauréat (OIB) or another foreign qualifying examination certificate that can be equated with a Danish upper secondary school leaving certificate
• A relevant business programme within trade, office administration or finance

In addition, there can be prerequisites for English and mathematics proficiencies at predefined levels.

The application deadline is March 15 for a course start in September. Admission is handled through The Danish Coordinated Application System. You can apply via optagelse.dk.

A few educational institutions offer a course start in February. Applications are sent to the institution. For more information on application deadlines, contact the institution.

Tuition

There is a tuition fee for all full-degree students, unless you are a student from an EU/EEA country, or from Switzerland.

Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.

Semester Start

An academic year is made up of two semesters, which begin around September 1 and February 1.
